It is officially summer! And that means finally finishing my book. Finally. My eager intentions to write during the year were a bit overshadowed by forced papers about lab methods, Shirley Temple, and the philosopher Kant among other things. But now I can write about what I really want to write about: happiness. And I can’t wait to get my fingers going again–I love that sound that the keyboard makes when your mind is going a mile a minute.
So that is my goal for the summer, among other things. What is your goal for the summer? I think with each passing season it is essential that we strive toward something–especially during summertime. Sure, summer is a time for rest and relaxation but it can also be a time of great opportunity if we use our time wisely.
I love how I start every summer with such hopeful intentions. Exercise every day, plan fun trips, and to do something unique and special every day. And just like with every summer, I plan on making the most of each day and I hope you will too. Summer can be blase and boring if we’re not careful. So let’s actively strive to keep ourselves preoccupied.
Here is my summer goal: To finish the rough draft of my book by June 20, 2011.
