I’m so excited to announce that I have been officially published! It’s rare that the mailbox ever delivers “gifts” from places other than Bank of America or Washington Mutual, but today, I was so excited to see Chi Omega come in the mail. My good friend, Whitney Heckathorne, the Director of Communications at Chi Omega, sent me a letter saying that I had been published in the national Chi Omega magazine, The Eleusis. There are nearly 200,000 copies printed and I wrote for the Pearls of Wisdom piece regarding Sisters and Friends. Here is what I said:
“Friendship took on a new meaning for me after I joined Chi Omega. My Sisters are not only my best friends, but also are now my roommates, study buddies, and fellow dancing queens. Whether it’s singing together in the kitchen before a final or talking about life ’til two in the morning, my Sisters always cheer me up.”

As many of you know, I am a proud Chi Omega. It is such an honor for me to be printed in this magazine and I hope it is the first of many printed works. This summer, as I near the completion of my book, I have realized what a true passion writing is for me. I genuinely love to do it—I wake up looking forward to writing and I go to sleep dreaming up new ideas for the next day. The more I write, the more my mind thinks like a writer. I see my world differently—I take a more active part in everything that I do because everything is an inspiration for potential words on the paper.
I hope you do what you love to do. Life should be about passion. There are enough obligations and duties as it is—without a little happiness and a lot of love, we’re not giving ourselves a fair chance.
Give yourself a fair shot today.
