I know it’s fundamental but really, I’d like to give a shout-out to sleep. After the past few days of feeling more exhausted than I can honestly recall, I have never yearned for sleep more. More than cheesecake, more than a nice kiss on a rainy day, more than a cuddle with my cat—I just want to get in bed and snooze away. Drool and all (c’mon, you know you do it).
Without sleep, our happiness is sure to hide out. No one likes to feel unfocused, physically tired, and emotionally drained. A lack of sleep causes all of the above. I tend to be a traditionalist, needing about 8 hours of sleep a night. Maybe you could go for more or less, but make a commitment to yourself to try and have a regular sleep schedule that your body and mind can rely on.
I hope you’ll get your fair share of shut eye this week because the catch up game is a losing battle. I’m definitely not winning when it comes to my bed time sleep score. The naps are nice, but they don’t cut it. So as I’m lamenting my lack of sleep (as I type tonight so that I can sleep in the following morning), I hope that you are feeling well rested today and if not, I hope you’ll tuck in on time tonight!
