Miracles happen…when you believe. (Yes, that is a mild reference to the Princess Diaries soundtrack). But in all seriousness, a miracle did happen. In case you’ve been following this story on my blog about our home being robbed a little over a month ago, there has been a remarkable turn of events.
After we were robbed and we discovered who did it (an 18 year old who happened to live just 5 minutes away from us), my dad had the nerve/courage to go to the home he lived in and talk to his parents. They didn’t know where their son was, as he had become a drug-addicted transient, but still, my dad’s meeting with them was not in vain.
Last night, his parents arrived at our doorstep with a backpack they found of his. In this backpack was ALL of our stolen jewelry. My mom got back everything—including her new ring that she bought as a keepsake from her trip toIsrael. I got my senior class ring back. But more than our belongings being returned, I have a renewed faith in the goodness of people.
If this isn’t a miracle, I don’t know what is. Even after something as shocking as having your home broken into, God has been so good. We got our car back, our jewelry back, and slowly but surely, we are getting our peace of mind back (that will come with due justice). I just wanted to share this exciting news with all of you so that you can hold on to faith in your life. Even when a challenge comes along, take heart and know that there is always hope. ALWAYS.
