Breaking Dawn Breaks it Up

Breaking Dawn is sure to break the box office this weekend. I know I contributed to that sum as I went with my friend last night. But what did I think of it? I’m still trying to figure it out. It was one of those movies that had your jaw dropping on a regular basis—sometimes for the right reasons and sometimes for the oh, so wrong reasons (aka the birthing scene—horrific, right?)

Considering this movie is somewhat of a landmark film (at least for my generation), I wanted to comment on it. And I still don’t quite know what to say. Yes, the wedding scene was sweet but it quickly went downhill after the honeymoon scene. Don’t even get me started when she started to sip blood out of a straw to feed her baby. Gross, just gross.

So because I’m at a bit of a loss for words, I want to open up the discussion this morning. What did you think of the movie, if you saw it? And if you haven’t seen it, are you going to? If anything, Taylor Lautner taking off his shirt within in the first 30 seconds of the movie might be worth the price. Or Robert Pattinson standing at the aisle…your pick. Just prepare yourself for blood…A LOT of blood. It is a vampire movie I guess.

What do you think?

Keep shining,

Your comments are pretty much what I’m hearing from everyone! I’ve been hearing a lot about the gore. I have a pretty strong stomach, so I’m probably going to go see it this week. haha

I’ll be honest. This movie has no shot in hell of breaking the record at the box office. None of the records. Case in point – With all the hype over this movie, you’d think it would blow everything out of the water. Not the case. Opening day was around $71 mil, $20 million short of Harry Potter. It will never have a moving fan base. And as far as the movie itself? Honestly, it was the best nap I’ve had in weeks. Sorry if i am the one to come out and say it, but this movie doesn’t have a realistic enough story line to keep “non-teamers” interested. I’m almost ashamed to say I also contributed to this movie’s gross total.

Lauren I thought it was great! After reading all the books, I knew how intense and gory the movie would be. So I wasn’t surprised at all and I think the movie followed the books pretty well. (Which is what we have a problem with most of the time now ‘n days right?) I thought it was great! I’m stoked for the second part to come out next year.

I’m glad that you liked it Zoey! I definitely loved the wedding scene–Bella’s dress was gorgeous. It’ll be interesting to see how they do the next film but they definitely left you hanging with the ending. I’m definitely going to be back to see the ending next year!
